Laraine McKinnon is a talent and culture strategist who specializes in establishing diverse teams prepared for the future of work. Laraine runs LMC17, a strategic consulting firm that blends behavioral science, big data, and practical implementation ideas to address hard-to-solve problems around diversity & inclusion, and inspire collaboration, productivity, and innovation.

Laraine also serves as Talent & Culture Strategist for Emtrain, a CultureTech firm providing revolutionary eLearning and analytics that measure the impact of social dynamics in the workplace – going beyond compliance to prevent sexual harassment, unconscious bias, and ethics lapses. Laraine works with executives from a wide range of organizations to contribute to their culture and talent initiatives. Laraine is co-author of Emtrain’s research reports, including Workplace Culture Reports on Respect and Inclusion, and speaks, blogs, and hosts LinkedIn Live broadcasts on current workplace culture issues. Laraine is also an Advisor to Emtrain.

Laraine is President of The CLUB Silicon Valley, a diverse community of professionals helping women to accelerate their leadership journeys. Laraine is the founder and director of the CLUB’s talent Incubator, an advocacy program that develops opportunities for high-potential, high-performing women’s career advancement. Laraine has helped incubees navigate roadblocks and advance at Adobe, Apple, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Lockheed Martin, NASA, PayPal, PWC, Salesforce, Tesla, and Uber. Laraine also manages the CLUB’s Speaker Roster, creating opportunities for women of diverse backgrounds to get recognition for their expertise and career success.

Previously, Laraine was a Managing Director and retirement readiness strategist at BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, where she led strategic client management teams and worked with Fortune 500 HR and Finance executives, as well as multinational corporations and sovereign wealth funds. Her thought leadership around retirement readiness includes sophisticated predictive data analytics, employee engagement through financial wellness, workforce strategy, and removing behavioral roadblocks. Laraine is the author of “Known: How to Create a Great 401(k),” and served as Advisor to Betterment for Business, a robo-advisor providing diversified investment portfolios and financial advice.

Laraine is based in Silicon Valley.
